Also, I was wondering if it's a good idea in any way to actually get a mousepad?
Haha, what a gamer.
You'll NEED a good mouse pad to make use of your mouse's gliding pads (or whatever they're called). Good mouse pad+gliding pads=mouse movements that flow so easily.
QPAD is good. I'm using medium size and it's just perfect for me.

I personally wouldn't recommend Roccat. I have both Roccat and Razer mouse and IMO Razer's quality beats Roccat's.

Also, does DPI really matter? It seems that the only change when changing it for me is a higher sensitivity.
A low DPI means more accuracy, but you have to move the mouse more.
A higher DPI means less accuracy, but you have to move it less.
I like a higher DPI tbh, the mouse is more responsive that way.

Imho, it depends a lot on the model... i had a Kone which had it's problems... the Kone+ is quite improved.
Well I have both Roccat Kova wireless edition and Razer DeathAdder and after 1 year of using Kova there were already problems with grips, black color wasn't true black anymore,... while Razer stays the same after 2 years, even when my sister used it(rough owner). And Razer is prettier o.o

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

Oh for chrissakes now I have to spend even more money. And from a brief amazon search, the mousepads are almost as expensive as the mice themselves. FML.

About the mousepad + mouse thing... imagine buying a Ferrari and only being able to drive it in dirt roads... u won't be able to max out the potential the car has to offer :P
