Definitely aggressive play. His regen comes from last hit so if you can pressure him from the get go, you will be having an easier time.

I usually go solo top, and I don't have a problem with him using Garen (you should really get him, one of the best solo tops in the game right now and he's only 1350). Use the brush to your advantage. If garen gets his Decisive Strike on cho, you can take away 1/3 of his health in that single exchange. Any damage you do take is shrugged off by his passive. After you get your first harass off, you'll have a decent health advantage. This is the part most people don't get, you have to keep the pressure on him. Zone him, by standing behind his minions, and if he tries to farm wait for his rupture, and dodge it. and start to use your combo. After that he'll be low enough for you to kill him, but he will usually retreat. Don't make the mistake of following him, unless your over level 6 with your ultimate up. Just continue to last hit, and he'll return. Basically you have to chip away at his hp little by little. It take patience to do this. After the second kill they'll start getting frustrated, and become much more aggressive, which will most often lead them to their deaths.

Nasus is a good pick vs Cho.

Nope, Nasus is free.

Nope, Garen can't win if you take armor 5 HP pot and level spikes.

Garen loses all the trades and your execute is better than his.

Udyr just farms but Cho is better with farm IMO.

Renekton is pretty good. That's true.

Aggression beats cho. Don't let him passively farm and sustain from his passive. Make him work for every single last hit. Make him use abilities to last hit creeps because he is so afraid of you. When his abilities are hitting creeps they aren't hitting jyou. Being a huge pain in the *** is the best way to beat a cho top.

This is true against most Cho's, but when you level spikes and take cloth armor 5 pots it doesn't play out. He ends up out sustaining and taking control of the lane.

If you see a Cho with a Regen pendant or a Doran's ring, absolutely, try to do what Evil is saying here.

Renekton, Akali (I don't know about now but she did before the GB nerfs anyway) Galio, AD offtank Sion, Kennen, these are all for sure effective, if they don't win, then they will at least do okay.

Maybe list?

Rumble, Ryze, Swain, Gragas.

Hope that helps.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like to run match ups against my Cho Gath, I'm interested in looking deeper into what wins in lane vrs Cho Gath as well.

I'm 100% sure that gragas would only win because he is "safe" against cho'gath because of his range.

The only character ive ever seen kill a good cho'gath in lane is Renekton.

The last akali i fought literally could not kill me, even after 6.
Tri lane for life.

Renek dominates a lot of champs due to him being relatively strong. I agree with Temzilla, gragas doesnt exactly win IMO, i dont think he can farm that efficiently against cho. Akali shouldnt be able to beat a good chogath just due to him being too tanky. Im not too sure how AD offtank sion would work either. I understand how AP sion would work blocking most of the damage dealt, but i just dont see AD sion winning lane against cho.

assuming the Garen is equally skilled and doesn't have downs, Cho doesn't stand a chance, not even close.
Udyr does insane damage at low levels and can zone Cho all day. Cho does not have the damage to trade with either of them and he cannot get in melee range to sustain off of creeps if Udyr/Garen play it right.

That list is either win or lane somewhat safely vrs.

The only champion I think flat out wins lane might be Renekton now that GB was nerfed. :P

And I'd have to try some rune pages and gear out myself before I could say it for sure. I never personally laned vrs Renek with Cho, I only saw HSGG get raped by Voyboy.

Cho is super strong, so just to be able to lane against him without being in danger and still be effective later in the match is pretty strong.

NA server?

I'd like to see your Udyr and Garen in a custom game.

Because if what you're saying is true, I want to know.

It is possible all the garens/udyrs I've faced were bad.

I normally play solo top bruisers (Irelia, J4, Panth, Renek) and my most feared opponent in the top lane is Cho Gath. I simply cannot figure out the secret to laning against cho gath/ his weakness.

SUSTAIN.
Warwick and a few other champions with good sustain will win over Cho.

i do know that vs garen, cho gath has to build cloth 5 hp to even last. > means that garen lanes against cho WELL, not sure about dominate. Udyr can somewhat zone out cho'gath due to his Q procs wrecking. if the udyr is smart and doesnt push udyr can safety outfarm cho'gath and possible get off a kill if cho'gath has downs trying to get farm.

EDIT: @ Searz, thats not exactly winning the lane, thats just farming. No way either will get a kill off the other. Cho'gath's sustain is so high. i dont think WW could possibly get a kill off him.
