DO NOT use any abilities (including item activations) or move at all while your Idol of Durand is channelling, it WILL cause it to break early. Just sit on your hands while you watch them beat on you.
A Galio's biggest downfall is rushing purely MR items, although you will hit a tiny bit harder, and not take damage from AP nukes, you will be extremely vulnerable to AD carries. It will also cause to you to take too much damage during Idol of Durand
Casting Bulwark before Idol of Durand will heal you while they are taunted, so do not be afraid to ult a team even on half hp.
With this build, you can take A LOT of damage, and put out a decent amount, especially against squishier champs, don't be afraid to take on other champs even without team mates around. People will often underestimate your damage output.
Casting Bulwark on yourself will increase your AP by a hefty 45 at rank 5. It's a good offensive tool as well :)
"With this build, you can solo top(most common), mid (very, very effective especially against AP) or lane with a partner anywhere." Second line in hints tips and tricks section, and I use the same methods for 1v2, works fine, just means another person to kill if they get careless, which they often do in a 1v2. I do have LoLreplay, and I never seem to see you online either :I
@Nighthawk
Have over 100 AP with the build, and I do explain in there if you want more fire power to replace certain items
Do you have LoLReplay? I would love to see a game of yours (I can't ever seem to find you online).
Somewhere in your guide, could you say what lane you take? I can't see it in there, and honestly, it bothers me. I'm crazy like that. What do you do when your opponents don't jungle? Assuming that you "solo top" Galio, does the build / skills go differently against 2?
O.o and yes, I do stalk this guide.
Thanks for the vote, and about the ninja tabi, I take them if they are AD dps heavy because dodging attacks negates massive amounts of damage, the armour helps, and if they are that heavy on AD dps your ult will still get to +40% damage in 2 seconds of them attacking you, about your concerns with being CC'd, in my opinion if they are using all their CC on me, it leaves my ad carries and ap nukes to do as they please, there have been countless scenarios where they focus their silences and suppresses on me, and my team goes in to clean up free of disables ;)
@Kamina
Thanks for the comment, I'm really glad the guide actually helped you, feel free to add me in-game (IGN: Jeebús), I'd love to see you're Galio sometime ;D
@BarbJ
I only have under 3k HP without warmogs, which I only replace if the enemy team has little enough damage that I can take more damage. I've tested out the two different mastery set ups and the 11 extra move speed is actually very useful, early game sustain suffers a bit, but to be honest with
I don't play Galio a ton, but when I do, I'm often at near full health. Why not take
Let me know in your next couple of games how much health you have, it could be a worthy change.
Prior to buying Galio, I was on the fence about buying him, and was regretting it because I would always feel like I was doing something wrong. Then after talent changes I found your guide and it filled in the missing pieces and everything just snapped together.
I've had some of the most fun playing Galio since I started playing.. You feel epic in team fights with a well timed flash\ult, or when you E for an ally to escape and he barely survives.
Keep up the good work and I wouldn't be having the fun I am today without your guide.
One grip for me is the suggestion of the ninja Tabi if they're stacking AD. Treads are always the best imo. I've been stunned and lost the perfect moments to use my ult due to things tenacity could've prevented. Plus Randuin + sunfire should be enough armor with all that health.
EDIT: Not to mention you need hits for maximum Idol damage. BUt that's smaller than the others.
