I have decided to construct a new PC from parts bought through newegg.com. I was wondering if I could get some help in the purchasing of parts. Im on a $500~600 budget and mainly just want it to game and do some simple school stuff.

I would like it to play LoL on the highest graphics (tired of my current PC's ****py ones) and not freeze when Im typing an essay or something (like my current PC...fml). So if you could help with the parts/case that would be insanely helpful. I have the keyboard, screen, and mouse.

If you happen to find a good build for me just link me your wishlist or link each item individually. Thanks!

Just to say, for 500$ you won't get a gaming rig, but you'll get a decent average computer which will run all new games just not on highest settings.

If I were you I would choose a 1155/1156 chipset motherboard and put a Core i5 4 core processor on it. Add some Ati Radeon HD 6800 series. About 600W power source should do it. Also in Asia all those hard drive factories were flooded and hard drives became very very expensive. They should hit normal price in about few months.

Do you have any spare parts you could gather from this PC. So you won't have to buy dvd reader, computer case and such ****?

I'd take something like this. To remind, this is my opinion of what I would buy ATM in such price range.

Computer Case (25$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233064

Motherboard (75$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130609

Processor (180$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115076

Power Suply(60$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817815010

Memory(23$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220571

Graphics Card(200$)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127545

Total price is 560$ and it leaves few extra $ for any extra coolers, hard drive and dvd reader. Like I said, you could probably take dvd reader from this computer, extra fans okay you have like 50$ left and like I said, hard drives are really expensive ATM so I wouldn't buy them if you have obviously 1 in your current.

Agree with most of this.

The GPU (graphics) might be switched for a cheaper card of the same model. I think that one costs ~20 extra just for a better fan. HD6870 is the card to buy in any case.

CPU (processor) could be switched for a i5 2500k. I think they're ~20-30 more expensive.

I can suggest something? Forget about buying PC tm :) Prices on hardware went skyhigh atm, not even saying that flood in Thailand made HHDs cost 3 sometimes 4 times the usual price :)

Core i5 2500K
ASRock P67 Pro3 (rev 3.0)
8GB RAM 1600MHz DDR3 (preferable any LLK kits) i like Patriot ones.
GF 560Ti or 570 from MSI. Twin Frozr II (not III) if avaible or Radeon 6950 or 6970
Any chsis i suggest CoolerMaster Elite series
XFX Core Power supply 550W minimum.

TheJohn take HD 6870. In my experience I'm a ATI>nVdia guy, because you get more power from same price. Searz that edition also has improved clock rates making it few % faster. But ofcourse you can buy a little cheaper card and take a little better processor. It's all up to him if he wants more processor or graphics power. Dewo only prices of HDDs went up, all other are still normal as far as I know. And you're setup is a little over this persons budget :D.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.
