With MR runes Irelia can go mid.

As a solo top you should pretty much always take TP.

Viable alternative spells to flash include ghost and cleanse.

Exhaust isn't bad but I prefer spells that make me go both in AND out :DDDD

Mid Irelia is fine o.o example: If there is a leblanc or kass mid that will rape your AP then thats when you switch lanes. Happen a lot to me kass season..

I had to mid-lane once against kassadin as irelia, and it actually went surprisingly well. She does fairly well mid, but I'll admit that she's better top lane. I usually go flash + exhaust, but I've started using flash + teleport. Reason for Flash? I tend to get myself in trouble using Q. Lol. I should try ghost sometime.

Irelia does really well vs kass. She counters him practically, but I do like top better at all time. Also I'll be using ghost on Irelia like I used to..
