Part of why Xerath is so strong is, because of his huge range, you can't stop him from farming no matter what. While a champion like Cho mid would probably do really well against him and deny him from roaming, he'll still get farmed and become a beast *** siege tank killing everyone late game.
Also, they somehow always seem to get kills in other lanes in the brief period you're buying, cos paying attention to the mid lane as a bottom lane is hard. ._.

Already did the Riven against Xerath, her high mobility, shield and dmg screw him over, just wait for Xerath to make the first move(In fact, you can dodge all of his Ult with your Q).
Maybe I'm just a bit too much in love with Riven but damn shes awesome.

Idk if Riven is the #1, but I think that a Master Yi running not to get hit can be a good counter (dodge everything and then destroy Xerath since he cant move and will not have enough time to deactivate the skill and run).
