Yes hes viable , watch Salce play Vlad mid with Heal + Spirit Visage ... he almost never loses the lane in the farm aspect.
Heal has taken average champions and made them broken.
It's bizarre how it works better on some champs than others o_O

It's pretty damn broken. At like level 9 with 4 stacks of Tides of Blood and a visage it heals for like 70-80% of his health...

Yea Heal is nice. I would have preferred a direct Vlad buff... but it is kind of fun again to pull him out of the coffin. It helps with his 1 huge weakness... being possibly the worst early game hero. And adds a nasty surprise during team fights... the enemy will be wondering if there was a Soraka on your team hidden somewhere.

Seems like a great idea. Im going to have to try that.
Used to play a lot of vlad, and he is still somewhat viable but not as good as other ap carries.
Vlad went from op (omg, a vlad mid lane, im doomed if he doesnt die before lvl 6) too a: ooh, its vlad. Good i should be fine.
