There are people who have made it to 1900 elo with Twitch using revive smite. The game has at least enough balance that some players find a way to make even the worst champions function from time to time. However, it doesn't have enough balance yet that a champion like Morde can be a great pick. He's not a great pick. He would be average at best against any competent player.
