What isn't considered advertising is something along the lines of: "Is X item better to get before Z or Y," "Are these good masteries or should I take these instead?"

It's advertising... If you want it to not be advertising, change the wording so it's not about your guide, but about Volibear in general.

"Asking for critique" is advertising. If you really want people to look at it, go to review threads or just roam the forums posting the guide in your sig. If you have earned a good enough reputation people will go visit it.
