So I played a custom 5v5 game with some friends I had in my teamspeak server. I played sona and the game was one of the closest I have ever played. Since it was so close I think it really helped me understand what I want in my build. I want to move kindlegem to after my boots so that the heart of gold is gotten first. I still love having Shurelya's Reverie in the build because it not only can prevent ganks but if you are in a teams fight and they kill 2 of y'all before you even get one of them half way down it can be used to get the remainder of your team out of the fight to D the towers.

With Scaling MP5 Runes It may be possible to drop AA staff altogether late game and sell the Tear of goddess for room for sight wards.I'll have to test this further.

Then keep your item build.

Have to build the gp5's fast.

No dont replace AA by RoA just drop it. And take either RoA or Abysal scepter not both.

I play support a lot so I think I can help you.

First probleme, as a support it is your job to ward key point therefor you don't have the right to have 6 items. I suggest you remove AA from the build; it is strong but your other items gives you much better support.

Second probleme is that you udapt your 5GP10 items too early. They are there to allow you to keep up with the team since you have to let the last hit to your carry and to allow you to generate faster rate gold so that you can buy wards faster when you need too. You should keep them until all your other items have been completly bought.

Your marks aren't that obtimal. I recomend using Magic penetration marks.

I have been thinking that you are right on dropping the as staff and I think i will in favor of sight wards, I am very very new to support and like i mentioned in my guide haven't even played a lot of 5's but I'm learning.

After a few more games I think I'm going to change a lot of the early items in my build.

I recommend to buy 2 Faerie Charms along with a ward and a health potion (2 if you get the mastery with extra starting gold) in the beginning. the other one would go into an soul shroud (only do this if your team benefits from it, replace with aegis because you still want max CDR). also I would get mercury treads and have CDR runes (flat or scaling, depending on preference) instead. situational items are missing. also I wouldn't get six items. use the last open slot for wards. The Heart of Gold should come earlier.

Actually I think you may be right about needing the heart of gold. I'm going to add it in now. Also as I am really new to Sona I haven't had a chance to bang out all the dents (and I don't play ranked games so this guide is based off playing blind pick). I prefer the merki pendant as it goes into The tear of the godess which allows me to have so much mana that I never have to pay attention to mana levels again.

I'll try out the Suggestions you gave in a few games and see what I think. Also since I haven't played enough sona I haven't had a chance to look into situational items but I will add them as I figure them out.
