Is it an animated gif? Gravatar doesn't allow animated gifs and probably only shows the first frame, so if the first frame is black or the gif is weird that might explain it?
It's anchor and goto.
You place an anchor (anchor=namehere) where you want the index to go to. In the index itself you put (goto=anchorname)Blablabla(/goto)
Like this:
