You shouldn't be clicking the spells, make sure you don't do that! :o I suggest grabbing some RP if you want some, and invest it in some easy champions who can play a lot of roles! Like champions who can Jungle and top, etc. Read guides on here! They help a ton, and make sure you save your IP for level 20 to buy rune sets. Once you have rune sets buy champions with IP and buy RP where you can, if you want it.

Level 1 runes are so cheap that it's not that big of a big deal if you waste some IP on them. Level 2 runes are too expensive, so I'd skip those altogether.
I'd go ahead and buy all the 450 IP champs, but that's just me. Trying more champs is great. And I'd go ahead and buy any 1350 IP champ you free played and liked, too.
But if you want to hit the ground running at 30 with a couple of champs you've been maining, you can save IP a bit more. Any IP you waste can be earned back eventually, so it's all good.

If you're going to buy champions with RP, i suggest buying the $20 retail version instead, they give you $10 of RP, and like 20 champions.
Once you get more comfortable with hotkeys, i STRONGLY recommend smart casting on key release.
Save your IP until level 20, buy your tier 3 runes then.
Try not to buy skins for champions unless you are going to play them.
It's a waste if you don't :p
