I like tormented soil before dark binding for a few reasons:

1) It can interrupt multiple champions either trying to take one of your points or defend one of theirs (and the damage isn't anything to laugh at either =D)

2) It is your minion pushing ability if you go bottom, so once you get a few levels in it you can kill all of the minions off with just one cast.

Correct. if you go for morello's evil tome (which I would recommend in most cases), you don't need to get frozen heart. But if you are against heavy physical teams I sometimes replace morello's evil tome with frozen heart =). It's really just too great vs physical carries to pass up sometimes.

Just FYI in this build he probably went for Thornmail because taking Frozen Heart would go over 40% CDR cap. So with this build and talents, Thornmail seems a better choice.

Yeah In most games it doesn't last long enough to worry too much about the last item anyways, but I figure at that point you have plenty of damage output and it helps to be able to stay alive a bit longer in direct confrontations. Quite a few times I have gotten thornmail or frozen heart against AD heavy teams and it has allowed me to go toe to toe with the likes of master yi and jax =D. I haven't played with on morgana but from my success with it on other champions I don't see how it could hurt.

Been using this build but with the super minion spell for holding bot, I rarely get thornmail in most cases it is pointless cause for thronmail you should have a lot of HP to utilize it properly.
