Is Jungle Poppy Viable?

Because of the recent health nerfs to the jungle, would it be possible for Poppy to be a jungler?

She has a speed boost, an armor boost, AND an attack speed boost, all with one spell.
With her Q, she RESETS her auto attacks, and deals quite a bit of damage.
Her E also helps, making it easier for her to take down the buffs, because she can just slam the monster into the wall and deal extra damage to it and stun it.

The only problems i see with her, is that she has a small starting mana pool, a small starting health pool, and no for of sustain. We can almost fix 2 of these problems by the items and runes we could choose.
We could go LS quints, deso reds, armor seals, and cdr or mana per level blues.
We could also start with a dorans shield or dorans blade for the extra health and armor/lifsteal.
With masteries we could also go deep into the attack tree and get the bonus lifesteal and 6% extra damage at the end of the tree, then going into the defensive tree for a bit extra armor and mres.

Not sure if im just crazy, but she seems to have a pretty decent kit to use with the jungle, with the potential for really good ganks, but i just dont have the time or IP atm to be able to test my theory out. Can some willing people help me out in seeing if she is as viable as i think she is?

If I recall, it was actually possible to jungle Poppy even before the changes, so it's definitely possible now.

Whether it's a good idea or not, I don't know. :P

I would get AS marks, because you already have AD(think about it like Master Yi), but I think you will need armorpen quints. Lifesteal quints doesn't help my poppy build very much.^^ And you could start with Vampiric Scepter anyway, to rush Wriggle's Lantern.

The mana dependence, well, you need armor seals, for sure. You could get flat manaregen or scaling manaregen glyphs, but magicresist is most time needed, too.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Im going to test it out later after school, first in a custom game to see what paths and everything i should use, then go into an actual game to see if her ganks are decent.

The path is really interesting but, her ganking is sub-par because she has no hard CC unless she ganks from a bush into a wall.

It worked before the jungle weakening but you were very succeptable to counter-jungling because of how low you got.

Not saying it's unfeasible but, it's not the best option.

This kind of questions are kinda the reason I made my jungling corner...
Anyway, with new jungle her ganks are still subpar and she doesn't scale well.
What new jungle made for her is making her impossible to counter jungle as she stays healthy, and in the jungle she can pretty much stun you at will.

Agreed, Winter.

I'd say she's definitely usable (as she was before), and good for a laugh, though she really isn't anything that you'll be seeing in high Elo match ups any time soon.


Usable? Definitely.

Viable? Questionable.


She has no REAL ganking ability, her speed is slowish because of her lack of AoE, she has no sustain, and even in the jungle as it is that's not really great.

Outshined in the jungle by almost everyone, in almost every aspect, but definitely usable if you REALLY want to play Poppy in the jungle!
