Even so, that was only the start of it, and as you said - it took people a while to realize her popularity. Vayne was added, but she was so gamebreakingly OP that she was banned every game. Past that, there wasn't a whole lot of really popular aggressive laning champions.

Lastly, as sutherland mentioned, the aggressive playstyle was promoted viciously, and ashe can't take that.

Yes, yes. And Irelia/Tryndamere/ most other champions are the kings and queens of gapclosing. This has already been discussed, and this thread should've been dead ages ago.

Ashe is a really great champion in the mid to late game stages, early game 0 sustain and super squishy though.
