Still rarely see lux mid, despite her recent buffs. [[Malzahar]] 1. [[Morgana]] 4. [[Nidalee]] 1. AP, most often. More frequently see them as tanky top or support bot though. [[Nunu]] 1. (could just be me who plays this) [[Orianna]] 1. She's definitely fallen off. Usually you'll see her support bot now. Not a bad mid though. [[Pantheon]] 1. [[Ryze]] 4. He's had a recent revival in popularity. [[Sion]] 2. AP, though I definitely see fewer Sion mids than I used to. [[Sivir]] 1. She usually favors top or bot. [[Swain]] 2. [[Talon]] 2. Don't see many Talon players any more, since his mana nerfs. [[Teemo]] 2. [[Twisted Fate]] 4. AP, usually, despite his range buff. Less common in lower elo. [[Veigar]] 2. [[Vladimir]] 3. [/quote] Alistar is one of the more difficult supports to play. Unless you play support often (or at least use the cow frequently), he's generally not going to give you good returns as support. If you know how to play him, he can go quite nicely with many champions as a support, but it's more difficult to do well with Alistar than say... Soraka or Sona. There's a higher risk-reward ratio in playing support Alistar. You also don't tend to see him take top frequently, probably because most people associate him with 'support' and assume he's not a viable top lane. He can, however, dominate quite a few top lane matchups, and is a good pick for a team in need of an initiate. Still, he's a very rare solo top pick.
