I have intentions of doing an edit of a game I recently did. But I am not very familiar with making movies etc. So I was wondering if anyone knew a program that could be used to do this? ^^ Mainly just to part clips and add clips inbetween them, maybe add some text through the clips + background music.

I hope you follow what I mean.

+rep if I find your comment useful ^^
Thanks to Sk1llbug, Yougan, JEFFY40HANDS,LaCorpse & MissMaw for the pictures <3

Windows Movie Maker - Free (you can download it from Microsoft)

Cyberlink Power Director - I prefer it. I got it free with a Blue Ray Burner I got.

Both are easy to use and powerful. Power Director has a few more options.

Here is my youtube channel so you can see what what you can do with them. The earlier videos were windows movie maker. The later ones power director.

While Windows Movie Maker is easy to use, it really gives only basic functions. You should try Sony Vegas. Little harder to work but there's just so much more you can do. I suck at making such movies and still used Sony Vegas, so yeah, not that hard. You have free trials or you can get it for free(I'm a pirate, arrr).

i would highly recommend you to get Sony Vegas for the video montaqe and if you want to go further into editing i would use After effect. You can still do some descent editing with Vegas but after effect is just more powerful.

With movie maker you can only do BASIC stuff... If you want to do something good put time into Vegas and you will end up with a good final project. You can also watch tutorial online to learn some basic.

Sorry for my english im french and i hope it helps you !
skills became a habbit when i was 12.
