Just wanted to bring up some discussion.

Solo-top Nocturne?

Deathfire Grasp on Mordekaiser?

Early Abyssal Mask on Ahri?

Sure, Sure, Sure.

Early MR while still building things you need mid lane are always good.

DFG on morde. Fine. More burst damage and the CDR is always cool.

Solotop noct is a bit hard though. It's probably a wickd learning curve.

From my experiences with Solo Top Nocturne I can definitely say it surpisingly effective. Aslong as you can control your mana use you should be able to win exchanges against alot of typical solo tops. It is also a good surprise pick in draft mode as they will expect you to be jungling. He has good sustain with his passive and the ability to keep minions off his turret against hard pushing champions. He can set up ganks nicely with his Q speedup and fear and his shield can win him a 1v1 if timed correctly. Combined with his early game power and his scary level 6 ultimate I think he should be considered a reliable top lane. What do you think? In regards to Deathfire Mordekaiser and Abyssal Ahri, I don't think either are good choices as other items are more important to get before them. Mordekaiser needs survivability and damage early, not more nuke. Whereas items like Rylais or Rabadons compliment Ahri's early game strengths much better. Also, I don't see the point in getting a item that reduces Magic Resist when the enemy most likely won't be getting any Magic Resist until later. Do you agree?

Well Abyssal is actually really strong in terms of raw damage to champions with low MR (just like the black cleaver), and since Ahri already possesses a single target CC and passive sustain, it might just work.

Her passive isn't good enough sustain in my opinion. She needs a catalyst or hextech during the laning phase in my opinion and the health from Rylais or Rod of Ages helps a ton. I think she has enough damage early game from her base damage which allows her to build these tankier AP items while still doing alot of early damage. Whereas Abyssal only gives her a bit of Magic Resist and not all that much AP aswell as no Health, Mana or Mana Regen.

Solo-top Noc sounds good, he builds off-tank anyway, has a good sustain and his Duskbringer + Bubble gives him a good anti-gank tool.

Morde and DFG is also fine if you wanna build more dmg, CDR helps a lot and in fights you want to burst your Ulti target asap anyway.

But Abyssal on Ahri... Not likey.
It's a good item and she dashes in for her homing shots etc. but in teamfights she won't stay in range to debuff most champs permanently even with Abyssal's 1000 range.

Let someone like Galilo/Amu/Morde/Singed etc grab it.

Keep in mind Mag Res reduction goes negative :P

Just a thought. I'm not too sure about the gameplay itself (haven't been able to play Ahri)

Noc can do well against most tops that don't have ranged harass I think. Haven't seen it much, but one beat our post-nerf irelia (although, I think that may have been more about our irelia just being bad LOL). But his sustain isn't awful. He just lacks tools to deal with anything ranged.

abyssal seems fine if you're worried about the other carry. Otherwise, I feel like it'd be a little slow.
edit: oh yeah, huh. Her ratios are pretty ****py lol I forgot. eh. I'll have to ask my Ahri friend to try it out and see how it feels.

Exactly I saw some pro-streaming games with Ahri going for Abbysal, the reason is that she is a lot more bulky against the opposite laner. As her AP ratio's aren't that high and her burst and poke is fine as it is. Abyysal on Ahri? Totally viable, even with some extra MR runes should do the trick.

I didnt do the maths, but even without the passive the Abyssal scepter seems totally fine in a midlane (AP vs AP) situation : MR and AP. I dont know how much is paid for that passive, but this item gives both dmg and counterbuild stats.

Top Nocturne naturally pushes the lane and that may be a problem. If youre against a natural pusher that does not have heavy low-cd ranged harass, you should be totally fine.
If you do well when you push the lane, Noct is good.

PS : his ult are good when the jungler come to help and when you want to gank mid or elsewhere (if you just backed before and walks to help the bot/jungler).
I don't even talk about Jungler + noct ganking mid, should be ridiculous :D
