if you read his already given backstory, he was an ionian that guarded a temple that housed this pit of corruption.
then noxus invaded, and he had to either defend the temple from noxus (so they couldnt get the pit) or his village.
he chose the temple, only to find his wife and childs body and a burned village.
he then went back to the pit and released the corruption, letting it consume him, and started his campaign of vengeance against noxus. he eventually found his way to the physical order to invade ionia signed by high ranking officials of noxus. (swain, katarina. possibly sion, urgot, etc..)

Looks like we can probably play him either as AP + AS ranged (aka Teemo) or maybe pure AD Ranged burst caster (sorta looks like a Pantheon to me honestly. Depends on the AD ratios).
