The presentation is what really sells a skin though. Having just a mediocre demo of the skin in game will be appealing to some, but not to many.

if by normal gargoyle you mean he looks like stone? i think that would be a little bland to be honest.
he was always going to get some kind of demonic skin, gargoyles have a history as being perceived as demons by the church, further back than the 12th century. and the model is good enough to warrant being a legendary.

After doing all that special **** with trynd, mundo, cho'gath, vlad and all the other recent legendary skins you did, you went and did this. This is soooooo goddam lazy it's not even funny people. Galio isn't a champion people think off the top of their heads right away, yeah, but if you're going to release a legendary skin for him for whatever reason, you better put forth the same amount of effort that you did on the previous legendary skin advertisements.
