I'm going to sound rude by saying this, despite my attempts not to be, but that is a ******** reason to have a video game unblocked on your schools network.

Lets face it kid, you're not playing LoL to look for some deep, philosophical way to apply its "lessons" to your everyday life, nor are you honest to God going to benefit from its communications aspect. That is, unless you call "YOU DIDN'T ****ING FOCUS THEIR DPS YOU ******* STOP FOCUSING THE MAINTANK" healthy communication, your proposal can be used by pretty much any vanity request brought up by any student in your school. When I think of League of Legends, it's just another video game. If I ever got anything out of a video game that has affected my every day life, it's that I have a certificate on my wall that I printed from my gameboy printer saying I caught all of the original 151 pokemon. Honestly, it just sounds like a poor excuse for you to play video games in your school.

Support denied.

Please don't mind him, the troll has spoken. I'm terribly sorry that this "troll" has spoken out.

YES, I give full support to this. Our school does not have LoL blocked but our school computers are too ****ty to run it >.> Good Luck with it, if you come up with a petition of sorts, I'd be happy to sign it.

ohk, I had a real look at what you've written because I felt obligated after digressing from the topic. I read what you wished to send ot the IT guys, and you're missing one main element. That is Security.

Ensuring Security

They won't say no because they don't like you and they won't say no because they care. They will say no because if something goes wrong, they're held accountable for their actions. This will be the deciding factor that makes them reply no to you, even if you have the whole school sign a partition.

Therefore, you must include in what you've written, that you are willing to be held accountable for any damage or problems caused by allowing League of Legends access. Still though, words are words and you made no promises. So you will have to sign something, so they know without a doubt that you hold full responsibility for what happens.

In the end, it comes down to how much you wish to play LoL. How deep is you're need? For if, in the unlikely chance, something goes wrong and your school's network has been brought down by a virus; then you must pay for the consequences. Generally, you will have to pay the money it costs for them to repair it which means you'll have to look at whether or not you are able to pay if something like that happens.

There are just so many factors to consider. I have, though, narrowed it down to two things you must do.

1. Write to IT saying that you will sign a contract to be held accountable for any consequences of unblocking League of Legends
2. Put away a certain amount of your money gained from your job/allowance (I don't know how old you are or whether you have a job) in case a problem occurs due to League of Legends

Note: Be very careful to check the contract you sign, if you go ahead with this. They might add more then is entirely necessary, such as "[insert name] will be held accountable for any problems in the school's network". You only want to be held accountable for any problems caused by unblocking League of Legends. Check what they write very very carefully, or you might become trapped.

Note:Make sure in the contract, there is something such as this "[insert name] must be shown proof that unblocking League of legends was the cause of the problem that occurred". This way, they can't trap you by pretending it was League of Legends that caused the network crash or such.

There is more you must look out for, but I cannot list everything. Just ensure they don't leave any loopholes to take advantage of.

As usual Tosh, that is high class ********.

I've been playing different sports since the age of 6 (though you won't guess it at the look of me) and I've done it because I wanted to have fun. I wanted to play a game, so to speak. That does not change the fact that all those advantaged that OP put down are present and are on a daily basis presented as the pros of team-sports all over the world and the point of participation in the eyes of many adults and administrators. Especially school sports. Add to that the physical fitness part, but it is only minor considering how the arguments are presented.

So yes, he wants to play a game, most likely because he wants to have fun. It still doesn't take away the advantages of said game, no matter how much you feel like trolling it.

And about the "it security part", just give them a list of high esteemed colleges which does allow LoL on their networks and even ask those colleges for any security advice. With that on your side, you will have to have INCREDIBLY stubborn it-managers on your school for the system not to change.
If you for some reason want to follow my ranked journey to gold, you can do it Here.

I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

yet they are still accountable for anything that goes wrong. They're worrying about their job and income, not about whether some prestigious school allows LoL on their networks.

Those colleges have

A) A better IT department

and

B) Better networking than what most boarding schools have.

Instead of being a typical uneducated League of Legends fanatic and call troll on people who have opposing views that go against people 'freely playing LoL", try to understand things from the schools point of view. I know that's going to cause you to actually work that 2-

<long rant about how stupid you are>

So yeah. Some colleges have the enjoyment other institutions have in regards to internet pleasures because they have the technology and staff to allow and monitor such things. Boarding schools don't for the most part. So quit calling troll against someone who has legitimate reasonings for why OP is a childish endeavor not worth pursuing. :V

Yup, I just called out your ********. Come at me cow toe.

Your trolling wasn't about the it department but about his reasons for wanting to play the game. Those I shot down, come again with something worthwile.

Way to side step my smack down on your post to completely avoid having to man up with a proper response to my reasonings. Scum bag move man.

And yes, my original post does hold water because LoL, no matter how you look at it, is just a video game. Go outside and do some sports OP. That's what highschool life is for.
