Kayle is Mordekaiser's #1 counter, use her. You can also try Veigar. Cassiopeia stands even against Mordekaiser. Fizz will wreck him in mid early game. Don't forget Trundle kills him hard throughout the game.

Also, if your jungler doesn't set up a tent in the bushes the SECOND he sees Morde top, then he deserves to be permanently banned from playing this game.

Yea, Mordekaiser beats himself at top. Just let him push then camp him with your jungler. he clears minion waves to the turret in exactly 3 seconds and has no escape.
