hi guys

lately i've been playing irelia and I always build the same.

starting with boots +3/4 pots -> HoG -> Sheen -> Complete boots -> Trinity -> Wits End/GA (in most cases GA first) -> and now it is situation dependant, either warmog+atmas or frozen heart+hog-into-randuins OR force of nature.

now I realized this build works when it is a tough game.
In most of these games I am dominating my lane with Irelia in worst case I am even with my enemy. Now I feel like I am not taking advantage of it.

So the question is is there a "more damage build" for her?
i know i can stack BT's and an infinity edge, but does this make sense?
what are your thoughts on a damage build and it would be nice if you could explain why.
i was thinking about a black cleaver so my ad carry would get an advantage of this aswell

you just dont need to stack dmg. leave that to your carries. you needa survive in a teamfight to remain scary enough. because you are melee, you must charge to the front of a teamfight to deal dmg. if you just stack AD items, you'll get melted quickly. there's nothing wrong with your build. very standard, though you may consider switching your 6th item for a hardcore dmg item if you want.

yeee and that is the problem, what should i get there and why.
infinity edge? black cleaver?
and yes I do need that dmg, cant carry without dmg. leaving something to the carries doesnt work in my elo. Not saying that i play better, that is not the case else i wouldnt be here, but its just i can only rely on myself (not always but still more then on others :P)

i was thinking about building:

boots -> trinity -> warmog -> atmas -> black cleaver -> optional randuins/frozen heart/fon/IE

the last item would replace wits end which i would get earlier. or this new item maw of malmortius or how it is called

i think i'll rewatch some M5's replays later to check what darien is building

The longer you stay alive, the more you can Q E W squishies then tankier enemies.

That's why having some HP and 150-200 armor and MR is good.

Having more AD means you'll be less tanky. The only reason that makes Irelia such a threat for AP and AD carries is how she can be hard to kill while being able to kill. If you do more damage but you die before your "anti-carry" job is finished, then your teammate will have a bad time. Graves is a fine example of it, Qss*cleanse your stun and kills you.
Not even talking about the power of a well-used Randuin's. This win team-fights, pulling 40-60 more dmg per AA doesn't.

Don't over-estimate an IE or a BT. Ad carries do damage because of how they have a mix of Ad-As-Crit-Arpen by item and usually some kind of steroid stacking with it. And a ****ing range.

If you dominate your lane really hard and want to take advantage of it, try some gank in other lanes or ward enemy top jungle to steal it/kill jungler.
English is not my native langage, I'm sorry about how painful to read my text are :c

Trinity is and always has been an amazing item for Irelia.

Don't forget other fun items like Warmogs Frozen Mallet Bloodthirster Randuin's, and later game Madred's as well.

I build her like this:
Boots + 3 pots (or regrowth pendant)
HoG
Wriggle's Lantern
Merc Treads
Wit's end
Trinity Force
Warmog's
Atma's
Sell Wriggle's for Randuin's
Thanks to Xiron and ProAsylum (Ignition) for the amazing signatures!
If I helped out with constructive criticsm, I would appreciate a +rep

I generally build her

Philosoper's stone

Heart of gold (dat's right,2 gp5, I'm a greedy bastard)

Boots (depending on the enemy, it can be either Mercury or Tabi)

Frozen Mallet (starting with Phage)

Either Warmog or Black Cleaver (depends on wether you really need tankines or damage output, since the damage and attack speed benefit her, plus Frozen Mallet so they don't run away)

From here on it's pretty much depending on the enemy team, Defense or MR or a situational item, I rarely need to get this far.

I don't know if it's they ideal build for her, but it always works pretty well for me, even on Ranked.
