I never plan on dying in a team fight, thats why it is bad. If your sole purpose is to run in hit every button and then die, sure be like Karthus and hit all 5 champions standing in a perfect line for 2500. Is that ever going to happen? I should hope not since I wouldn't expect the player base to be that naive.

You listed her passive as "pretty bad". In a teamfight if you can hit every member of the enemy team you can do an additional 2500 true damage. Thats hitting each for around 500 damage, which is ~1/4 of a carry's hp. Thats's pretty good.

The MR runes are not necessary. I have played countless games as Zyra and never found myself being out harassed in lane or being bullied by any magic damage source. Especially with the early game health boost and health restore from catalyst the protector.

Zyra doesn't need the Mp5 but having the extra Mp5 allows her to harass more and stay in lane longer without OoMing, which in my books beats 5.31 AP. As for Rod of Ages, having the sustainability and survivability that come with it makes her stay in lane until you pretty much overflow with gold. Its in there because I don't use .
