Views: 1188 Forcing a Vote - Revenge-Voting
|
Is forcing a vote really okay? Although I'm okay with troll votes, since they are part of this site, I dislike the current situation I'm in.
I downvoted a guide and I gave reasoning behind it. I was then insulted, attacked, revenge-downvoted on 2 out of 3 of my guides, then spammed to fix my vote. He then told me to fix my vote first before he fixed it. To me, I didn't really mind if he downvoted me, although it has nothing to do with my guide, nothing can be done about it.
However, he won't let it go, and he is trying to force me to vote his guide up. Should I give in and 'trade' the votes in order to just let it be? Or just not care about it and continue with the spam-receiving.
Suck it up? Do what he wants? Or just ignore it completely? Just wondering if you guys have any thoughtful solutions.

I created a smurf account for my downvotting purposes after being in the same situation you are in. He's a masked vigilanty downvoting all bad builds without fear of repurcussion since he has no guides :D
Next time you want to downvote something, speak to me I'll do the dirty work for you
best regards

Edit: Im still in the middle i was never on a side just looking for both sides argument
If you tell someone who is doing something wrong that they are doing it right, they will continue to do it wrong. I saw the guide going up and up, with no one saying anything about the flaws. I could of gone on and on. The RoA was one of my opinions, and he made it seem like my post was all about it.
He threatened me, insulted, and so on. If anything, it makes him the 'hater'.
He had plenty of positive support, and truthfully, I didn't see a large amount of it, largely because aesthetically, it was flawed or painful to read. I wanted him to fix it, then I would change my vote. I did pose solutions for the large part, and to have better improvement, one needs to have a willing mindset to accept feedback. I gave him advice such as leaving turrets at level 3, and yet he ignored everything, and continued to attack me. In retrospect, he left me comment(s) relative to how his perspective on my guides were the same as my perspective on his guide. Which wasn't close to the case.
I understand your point of equalling 1 positive for 1 negative, and in that guide, that was already done by other accounts.
He still believes nothing is his fault, and I'm the terrible person. I enjoy criticism and feedback on my guides, whether they are good or bad, so I took the naive mindset that many others did too.
If you still see it as my fault, that is that. I appreciate the discussion, although frankly, I'm starting to get a tad bothered that negative feedback = troll person.
As for reporting, I don't have a true reason to report, nor am I that bothered to do so. T
The build he downvoted was just fine and i saw no reason for you to name 10 negative things with no positive, dont hurt others in spite.
You seem quite confused. 'Don't hurt others in spite'. What spite are we talking about? I criticised his build as it seemed off and in room for improvement. I thought it had potential, but there were several critical things that I marked. Clearly the rest is positive, hence I only named the negatives. He already had many votes saying how great his guide was, I was there to help figure out what was wrong with it, and what MIGHT be wrong with it. Clearly stated on the end, was that a lot of it was opiniated therefore he didn't need to listen to some of it. The largest problems were aesthetics, grammar, and punctuation rather than the build itself. I gave him a constructive review, partially shredding his guide as well as giving my opinon - in return he spammed me, downvoted me, insulted my guides + my knowledge + gameplay.
I don't mind if you share your opinion, but you state that I'm a 'hater', which I clearly am not. Do explain your logic, I'll gladly listen and apologize if I'm wrong.
Just report him and a mod will warn him or ban him or something. I think you can also report troll-votes and you have proof.
Actually no, you can't. As long as he only votes once per guide (and doesn't cheat with multiple accounts), we won't remove his vote.
Things like this can piss me off so badly.
Some bastard that disagreed with your down-vote, now voting down all your guides, and then force to trade votes.. This is not how MobaFire works, thus, report his @$$, That is what I would do.
Even if you care a lot about your guide score, they can only vote once per guide. In the end it won't really matter. As long as he doesn't IP cheat, just ignore him. If he manages to create multiple accounts to downvote you, be sure to report it.
