I've seen a lot of "comprehensive guides" that include doing solo top and jungling for the same champion, but I prefer to have separate unattached guides for Jungle and Solo Top. I'm making a Jungle Trundle guide atm along with a few others but I wasn't going to merge them into one. I feel someone could like the Solo top guide but not agree with the Jungling section of the guide and would give them mixed opinions. So I'd rather ahve 2 separate guides so they could down vote one and up vote one according to their opinions.
I agree Black Cleaver is a good item on Trundle but I don't generally have the luxury of building it. I get both the AD and AS from the TForce components. The Armor debuff is nice since Rabid Bite resets your Auto Attack you can apply them pretty quickly but on Trundle I think offtank items that have defensive and offensive stats are best. Black Cleaver only has offensive stats, where Bloodthirster has defensive stats in the concept that life steal keeps me alive longer.
Wriggle's is good but I tend to have a preference towards other items. The lifesteal is nice but Trundle has massive health sustain in lane already so I don't feel that it is necessary. the free ward is a plus and it does grant stats that you benefit from. I'll add it into the optional / situational laning items section.
I'd much prefer Randuin's Omen or Frozen Heart over Thornmail. They both give you more survivability in my opinion, along with other more useful stats than the damage return component.
The buy order for the components of TForce is always situational of course.
And for Ninja Tabi / Mercury Treads it is situational. I have one included in one build and the other in the second build. Just an example of how you need to optimize your itemization according to the enemy team and your lane opponent.
Again thank you for your vote and advice. (:
Ninja Tabi/Mercury Treads: Depends on the enemy team
Wriggle's Lantern: Gives you a ward for when you solo top with some life steal for extra sustain and a bit of armor.
Black Cleaver: This really helps. It gives trundle really good AD and some AS. On top of that you bite them and steal some AD making them deal less damage and then the cleaver removes armor from them increasing your damage so much more.
Trinity Force: Oh baby do I need to explain?
You can switch around the order for those two because you should only build one before you get this next item and the second one afterwards. It's really just preference.
Randium's Omen: This is an amazing item for team fights. People usually don't realize even the longest team fights aren't very long. So that slow is pretty good.
Thornmail: Well this hurts them for targeting you not to mention you can, deplete their armor, take their armor, take some attack damage, slow them down and speed yourself up. Really they wouldn't stand a chance.
Late game I would generally sell your wriggle's lantern because there are better items. You can go for a Warmogs for some extra health and regen or you could go for a Bloodthirster too keep the lifesteal and a nice hunk of attack damage.
Also if you want your guide to stand out from other guides I suggest you try to expand the guide more. Maybe include a jungling section or tell/show how you would set up a gank with Trundle. Possibly even some combos for enemies that are running away or just a 1v1 combo that you would use because when you use abilities can determine a kill or death.. If want any ideas or anything for your guide just send me a message and we can talk.
Yeah so that's it. Maybe try out the build I suggested and see how you like it? I don't know. Do what you want. I'll still upvote this because it was a pretty good guide overall.
