Most mages are ranged. There's also Nidalee, Kayle with her E, Urgot, Teemo, and most of the female supports.

Jayce is only played as a bruiser despite his range because he can do some amazing things with his meelee form, but he can't survive in his meelee form without a bruiser build. Therefore, people build him as a bruiser. Otherwise, there's not many ways they can make ranged champs without them being AD carries, because they're usually that or AP carries.

No you dont under stand. I mean ranged ad similar to how jayce i played.
Ill give you teemo but hes not ad he builds attack speed and on hit with little ad. Kayle is an adc pretty well all top builds i see with her go IE and phantom dancer an adc build.

EDIT: Also, almost any AD carry can be played like a bruiser. (best examples; Draven, Graves, Ezreal, vayne)
And some can be played AP (Ezreal, Tristana, varus).
Just because it's a carry doesnt mean it needs to be built as such.

I believe what you're looking for is more ranged bruisers. There aren't likely to ever be a lot of them, because range is itself a huge advantage top lane, and a large number of ranged bruisers could easily make a lot of current top laners obsolete. Nidalee, Jayce, and Kennen are good against most other top lanes due, largely, to their range, without considering other factors; just imagine what top lane would be like if there were a lot of other viable ranged champions as well.
Kayle is not an AD carry. She's a lane bully and a bruiser, when she builds AD, and she tends to pick up some defensive stats after her purely offensive laning phase and mid game. She is, probably, the sort of thing that you're looking for.

I mean, Urgot reinged supreme at bot lane for a long time because he was a ranged bruiser. Nidalee had a massive burst in popularity as a top lane bruiser. And now Jayce is commonly banned and had to be nerfed a bit because he easily deals with most bruiser tops.
