Sustain, not so much. None of his moves give him lifesteal or passive regen (unless I'm totally wrong), so he has no natural sustain. He's nice, has a cool ulti and tools to set it up. Top-wise, he requires some decent mind-boggling to beat a good deal of tops.
I assume he loses to Yorick, Rumble, Kayle (unless he can lul her Q into his clone in one or two trades). Malphite can probably ignore him.

I tried skipping doran's blade.
Turns out to be a big mistake.
He's got no sustain so dorans' are definitely needed in solo top most of the time.
He can coordinate with junglers pretty well tho.
I like to have a jungle mumu when i play wu cause 2 sec stun and a knockup are op.
Works very well in teamfights too.
Can be tanky while dishing reasonable amount of damage.
Mostly I refer to the top rated guide on wu, u should check it out.

He's really ****ing strong, the QoL Q buff makes a ****ton of difference and adds a lot to your zoning potential. Wu is really a force to be reckoned with.
Wukong doesn't specifically counter anyone. His laning phase is kinda weak but his scaling more than makes up for it. Hes worth playing he was my main champion getting to 1400s elo back when I was starting ranked and Ive played over 1k games as him and dont regret it. As for sustain 0 you will need pots or health regen.
Wukong? Hmm he's a decent top laner. One of the best traders aswell. Has good zoning potential, awesome escape skill (If used and timed well you can juke anyone anywhere) and his ult is very useful in teamfights when coordinated with a Hard cc ult such as Galio, Morgana or Amumu ults.
