She works better as either a top laner, or an extremely aggressive support, and to a lesser extent, jungle. The reason for not putting her mid is that it's pretty much impossible to stun people against a wall mid, unless your opponent is really, really stupid.

I felt that she still did some good damage without stunning someone. I don't know if building her ap is the right way to go anyway.

Well, an even bigger reason no on plays her mid lane is because she has no creep clear.
Most enemy mid laners would just push you into tower all game long.

Building off things other people have said, her W increases armor and not MR. It's a bit hard to resist damage when you don't have the right type of resists.

True so I decided to level it last and just use it as a speed buff. Her passive is priceless though against those burst champs.

I dunno I'm level 15 and bought poppy because she seemed quite fun and she was only 450 ip. I checked her on the wiki and she only scales with ap so I thought she'd be good for mid as aps are always mid.
