If you are on a winning streak with your favorite champ and have never played him or her in Ranked, would you risk playing Ranked with the possibility of losing; therefore, crushing your super inflated ego? You REALLY want to play Ranked to prove you are decent/good with that champ, but there is a chance that you will lose. That loss can completely shatter your bloated ego, and maybe prevent you from playing Ranked ever again with that champ. WOULD YOU TAKE THE RISK?!

I have with swain, currently my win rate is exactly 50% out of 6 or 8 games (can't remember). It hurts, but I never lost lane in any of them, my inability to carry in some motivates me towards trying harder.

But I do understand that "fear".

Last season I stopped playing Ezreal because I didn't want to ruin my stats lolol.

Well, my Lee Sin stats are already ****ed, and a DC + uncarryable team ruined my Kha'Zix, so I don't really have anymore ego left to be crushed.
