It goes like this:

If you have two tear items at the same time, they have the same count, but only the first one bought will evolve and then the count goes back to zero.

If another evolves before you get another tear, the tear will stack up from the start.

The mana gain depends on which one you got first.

No, it isn't really that cost-efficient to get both and Kayle doesn't really benefit from both that much it would be worth so it is better to get attack speed/ap items

Sorry, but I need to pick at this item a bit, because this passive effect shows up a few times. So, this item Tear of the Goddess builds into Archangel's Staff and Manamune

My first question is this: we all know the bonus carries over when I build either of the second two items, but if I purchase a new Tear of the Goddess, is it prevented from gaining bonus mana, or do both items just share the bonus 'total'?

My second question is if you have Archangel's Staff and either Tear of the Goddess or Manamune, does the bonus still increase 8 mana at a time for non-attacks because of Archmage's Staff, or does this just gimp it all together?

The final question is this: if my Archangel's Staff or Manamune evolve before I purchase a new Tear of the Goddess, does the count reset to 0?

For those who are wondering why i'm interested in this, let's itemize it.
1) Never a bad idea to understand an item's mechanics.
2) Yes, I'm aware of the cost of both Archangel's Staff and Manamune come out to 4800 gold.
3) Champions like Kayle that benefit from both AD and AP could benefit greatly from knowing this.
4) Once evolved into Seraph's Embrace and Muramana, the item mana bonus is no longer unique passive. If both can be built at the same time...
5) While expensive to build up, the benefits can be staggering.
MP: 2000,
mp/5: 17,
Ap: ~120 {60+(2000*0.03)}
AD: ~60 {20+(2000*0.02)}
Toggle: additional ~60 dmg on hit.

Basically, if I can evolve both items at the same time, w/o being slowed down or having to build each item separately, a few champions on the battlefield would be really terrifying with this.

… then again, i'm just curious is all.

I feel the method of mana gain impartially favors the archangel over the manamune. Because with the manamune it forces you to dump 1000 gold into it immediately to gain mana on basic-attack, making it hardly worth the weak early-game. IMO

You don't lose any bonus. That's why it's more effective if you spend money on something else first and when you build up some mana, then make Archangel's.

If I build Archangel's Staff from Tear of the Goddess, will I lose all the mana bonus from the tear? Or will the bonus carry over to the Archangel's staff? Or will the bonus be completely gone forever?
