WTF, don't make **** up. It's by the same company, Square Enix (in collaboration with Disney), that does FF and has cameos from FF, but in no way is it based off FF. It's its own separate storyline and has nothing whatsoever to do with FF.
If I had to say it was based on something, it'd be Disney. All the worlds Sora visits are all from Disney stories. But even then, I'd hesitate to say this.
Anyway, I've played 1, 2, 358/2 and Dream Drop Distance.

I wasn't making anything up..The fighting style and the spells are based on Final Fantasy not the story. Sorry for the confusion that's what I meant.
