allows you to scale while in lane. i'd think it is a priority adainst AD casters coming to take a rampage on midlane, although it saddens me it doesn't make laning Rammus viable.

i normally get last whisper as a third or second item on khazix if they get the armguard

of course at my elo everyone sticks to one build no matter what is against them and rushes athene's

sounds like a mistake, unless your oponent comes to lane with 200 armor at level 1.

U buy it vs ad mid.
Thats the entire point.
Also as rumble etc top vs ad champs its good.
Its a item so a caster doesn't have to spend money on just armour.
It also makes u able to start cloth armour.

Last Whisper > Black Cleaver for burst damage. Black Cleaver is only better for team-fighting and stuff, for reducing the enemy team's armor.
