Since you are going hybrid marks, ad quints and dorans blade, why not take 5 armor pen instead of 5% ap ? Kennen have a lower ap scaling on his abilities than other ap champs. I feel like kennen is better off with tanky/utility items like zhonya, rylai, hextech revolver, abysal. In your build, he gets rabadon pretty late. Why do you feel that abysal or rabadon is more of a priority than rylai
Kennen's overall AP-scalings are pretty low, but his ultimates scaling is off the charts. Which is why i want to utilise his utmost potential of those couple of seconds where you're really making a difference. And spellvamp is contradicting that playstyle because you need to stay alive for SV to be useful.
I stomped both my lanes (diffrent opponents) and everything worked pretty well.
I still need to adjust my timing a bit somethimes but he's really fun to play this way.
+1 mate!
[[]] code doesn't work in the cheatsheet notes though :)

why don't you start dblade D:
There are multiple reasons that i don't do that:
1: If you get ganked with a doran's blade you will fall really far behind cuz no pots
2: I don't really like LS quints on kennen i'd rather have the AD from my quints and then have 4 pots to sustain since then i'm gonna be able to regen even if zoned.
Think about the 2 starts and their ups and downsides:
Boots+4pots+AD quints:
You start with a lot of mobility to survive the inevitable level 3 gank and 6 AD, but most important you have 600 hp of pots.
Dblade+LS quints:
10 AD, around 7 health each hit, 80 hp worth of health - NO pots
It's a tradeoff where i prefer one and others prefer the other..
@hong yu:
Yes, exactly.
Your problem seems to be the lack of tankyness and gapcloser i'm also suspecting that you're zhonyas'ing too early.
My advice to you, don't try to initiate with kennen as you would with wukong, you're a squishy - play him like one. IF you need to engage use your flash to do it since as you said yourself, people can literally walk out of your ultimate.
Last and definitely not least, you seriously NEED to use your zhonyas correctly, i think you're using it too early, when you see projectiles flying towards you, you zhonyas. You want to draw fire THEN zhonyas rather than just being a golden lightning thing. If they're trying to get out of your ult they won't be attacking you so you won't need it just yet. Downside is that you might get exhausted but yah - happens.
I see, he seems like a follow up initiator rather than being the initiator, I think my problem is that I try to be the initiator so I am forced to zhonyas early upon taking ranged damage and tanks are peeling me off, I prob need to go in after someone initiates or play like a assassin ish champ after they used their cc so I can at least be in a good position.
