I'm new to the world of LoL and have been loving it so far. I have finally found a character that I believe I am dominant with but I have only played against AI so I'm not sure how well I'll transfer over to playing against real players. If anyone could give me any advice in to knowing when I'm ready for some PvP action it would be greatly appreciated! I don't want too go in to PvP blindfolded and upside down so comments would be awesome!
- Buy wards,in bot games it doesn't matter if you ward baron or dragon because they don't try to get them,in a real game you need to ward baron and dragon and gank positions.
- Don't expect them to let you live with 1 hp,something I notice with bots is I walk into a bush a little bit away and they don't chase.
- You can't charge at them and expect to get first blood, basically, they aren't stupid.
- Work with your team,I'm sorry if you get stuck with idiots or bad teammates,it happens.
- The surrender button is there for a reason.
- Get creep score, seems like a no brainer, but most people don't cs in bot games (In my days.) This gets you your builds and levels.
In my experience of playing lol the AI and PVP battles are pretty different in a couple of key ways. Firstoff is positioning, in battles and on the map in general. Players are less likely to wander into your damage zone for an attack and if they do, are more likely to backout of it as soon as they realize instead of trading damage (at the early stages of the game). However if your the one caught off guard, dont be suprised to find the enemy chasing you with all theyve got.
Also after the laning phase, its harder to predict where on the map theyll show up, as player strategy often differs from the standard AI tactics.
So yes it is deffinantly a more challenging arena, however as most players will be at your same skill level from the offset, I wouldnt worry about being too overwhelmed :)
When I started playing, I just went straight into PvP so I didn't have the same experience you do, however I did have some friends who did the same thing. In PvP, the system will try to find people as close as possible to your skill level, so don't be afraid to try it out!
