I know that arpen works on AD spells and now 
Black Cleaver adds stacks on spells instead of just basics, but im pretty sure lifesteal still works on basic attacks. The mobawiki probably has a definitive answer.

Autoattacks work with Lifesteal only.
Spells work with Spell Vamp only.
Unless your spell applies ''on-hit'' effect. In other words, your spell is considered to be like an enhanced autoattack so it works with lifesteal. For example, Gangplank's Parrrley, Ezreal's Mystic Shot, etc. To know if a spell applies on-hit effects you just have to read the description, it will tell you if it does.
Talon's rake is a normal spell and it does not apply ''on-hit'' effects so it does not work with Lifesteal, it works with Spell Vamp instead.
Olaf's Undertow is a normal spell that doesn't apply on-hit effects so it works with Spell Vamp. However, Olaf's Tough It Out gives him Spell Vamp so that's why using Undertow can heal you.

Black Cleaver pretty much needs to be nerfed a little, you could just stack 3 Cleaver on Talon, even 4.
