Like sirell said, it's really important that you learn how to last hit. It can give you an easy edge over you opponent, even if you are behind on kills or something.

The easiest way to practice is to stand within attack range of an enemy unit, hit S, and then right click when they are at a low amount of health (<100). It'll take some getting used to, but it helps SO much
