You answered your question yourself. He is "untargetable", and siphon is not a targeted spell.

Neither is
Absolute Zero, but it can't hit him on his staff.It might be the last second jump timing thing, so you jump just as the siphon hits. That's more of a "user failure" than anything else.

I really really wanted to say "um... it can't?" But I had assumed OP had had this happen in a game or something so i thought to myself "i must be wrong on this one"... But yeah what you said is likely right.

I believe all AOE damage still effects a untargetable target. Alpha Strike and Blade Waltz are some that come to mind. IDK exactly, I don't play much Fizz, but I believe it still lands because it is considered AOE.

The reason why Alpha Strike hits is because the damage is locked in while fizz is still targetable. Whether or not he is on his poll when the animation is done he will take it because the ability was already cast on him. And Blade Waltz, for the same reason. Although i'm pretty sure that he still won't take the strikes while he is on his pole, but the waltz lasts long enough for him to take the first shot, then the last one or two. It's one of those overly complicated spells as far as mechanics go. Unless that makes the waltz stop... I'm really not sure, ive never personally seen a fizz as the target of a waltz. I know that if Brand ults a fizz, or the ult is traveling to fizz, then he trollpoles, it just fizzles and stops altogether, and that's a multi targeted spell.
