League of Legends (LoL) Question: What is a safe mid

    What is a safe mid

Alright, so i've recently started Rank/Draft pick normal and i want to start working on mid, the only lane in which i currently don't have a champion who's a safe early pick. My main mid is Veigar, and he can be countered quite easily. What is a champion who's safe, and by that i mean they aren't easily countered or if they are, it's not a horrible match up ((Such as Veigar against Ryze))

Orianna: She has long-range spells, powerful auto-attacks (thanks to Clockwork Windup. She cannot be zoned easily, or ganked easily due to how far back she can farm with her Command: Attack.

Xerath: He has long-range spells allowing him to farm from super far away if he uses Locus of Power and Arcanopulse. Ascended Form makes him one of the stronger casters against bruisers.

Twisted Fate: He has long-range spells, and then after he gets the ability Destiny he can roam around a lot.

All good ideas, although not lux. I personally have zero skill with her even compared to others. I know she's great, i just can't get her to work. Rep+ both of you for your input.

Lux is definitely safe, thank you. Zyra seems pretty safe although I haven't played her for a while. Another one that I thought of was AP Nidalee. I say this because she has sustain, mobility (post 6), and long range poke. Her wave clear isn't very strong until level six.

The safest mids tend to have long range, and can be useful to a team even if they fall somewhat behind. In addition to those Penguin just listed, I would definitely add Lux to that list. She's fairly strong right now with her high damage, CC, and range. Another one I don't think anyone here mentioned is Zyra, who has huge disruption and damage in team fights, while being able to farm and harass from large distances in lane.

Its all dependent on you. (IMO) I would recommend Morgana she is strong and a safe pick, with utility, cc, dps and a snare. Similarly all of the Mid champions that Woodycoconut and Pluckin Penguin recommended are good choices. :)

Kayle, for its Q, that deals great damage from range; W, for its healing and movement bonus; E, wich is excellent to farm; and her ult, that makes you invulnerable.
She uses AD and AP, making her somehow difficult to counter. For her build, see my profile.

Safe mid is [Lux] [Twisted Fate] [Orianna] and [Morgana] she is really easy to play problem with Morg is her lower power late game.

    I'd go with Morgana.
She's a really safe pick overall, she has great wave clear, a very nice snare, an utility shield that can shut down ganks, and an incredibly handy ult in team fights. She can build tanky and still do "Tons of Damage"

Safe mids are usually those who can survive/prevent from getting ganked, have spell vamp, long range, and/or able to quickly push without much risk.

Lux has long range, can push lanes quickly with Lucent Singularity (sometimes Finales Funklen), even kill the enemy jungler while getting ganked due to her insane burst.
Ahri can vamp her self back to full health so she won't be as prone to being gibbed, can push lane quickly with Orb of Deception, and practically has Spirit Rush, which is three flashes post-6.
Morgana has the anti-cc shield, can push extremely hard, vamp herself, and can peel for herself with her Dark Binding and Soul Shackles.
Orianna can safely farm from afar, disengage ganks, and can push extremely hard and even wrad for herself with her ball.

    Lux and morgana.
You could also pick Twisted Fate.
But when safeplaying, you can't lock a stun card on opponent.

I would say Lux and Orianna in particular. Both are a good long range farmers and have a relatively safe lane from ganks with their CC.

Twisted Fate is another one if you utilize his range and ability to farm under turret if absolutely necessary, along with some excellent roaming and utility power with Destiny.

Ryze can suffer early game, but is a late-game beast. He becomes useful at some point, hopefully that's sooner rather than later.

Mids that can win even when counterpicked, only when played well.

Orianna is a very good example with that.

But that is the only one that pops in my mind atm though :(

My safest picks for mid would probably be Twisted Fate, Ryze, AP Master Yi, Orianna, or Ahri

Imo fizz would be, never lost a lane with him. Everytime my opponent pick ryze then they curse in /all.

Yes, I got too caught up in the personal experience thing.

Also Fizz is entirely all-in and can get shut down really hard. He's far from a "safe" pick.

Just in case you don't realize why you've been down-voted. I think the main reason why people don't like your comment is the fact that you are relating this question to your personal experience. Just because Ryze is said to be good against Fizz does not mean that Ryze can't lose his lane. There're plenty of games that I can think of where someone who was heavily counterpicked still ended up winning their lane.

The fact that you never lost a lane is pretty irrelevant. It's great if you've never lost a lane, but that doesn't apply to everyone.
