Play with friends. Solo queue is pretty disastrous, and the best way to recover from bad ranked experience is just to play a premade 5-man normal with buddies.
I wish I had enough friends for a 5-man team! Alas.
When I play with one or two friends though we get assassinated by elo... half the time we're up against people 20+. :( It's frustrating. It's either awful people harassing us on our team, or the other team being way higher than us because we're a group of two or three and we don't stand a chance.
Gah!
Ah well, it's not like I'm going to stop playing. :)

I do what I can, lose the game, and try again for a better game. If they're being jerks, then report. If they're just bad, give them some advice for future reference, offer to play a few bot games with them if you have time. I'd rather have a teammate who's ****py at the game than a teammate who's rude and unable to get along with.

Well u can just mute them if u dont care about the lack of communication u will get...
But if ur problem is that they will lose u the game... well then u are pretty ****ed. But that isnt tooooooo bad cuz nobody can win EVERY game. Not mostly cuz they played bad that game, but its becuz of the rest of the team. Im not saying u need to blame them on being bad, sometimes their just in a bad mood. its just how the game works. all the pro players go like 20 kills 5 deaths alot of games in a streak, but they still lose those games. It isnt about winning every game, in my opinion its about the percentage of games u win. If someone complains that they lost a game with a perfect score... then i would just say, u shoulve made more plays or: u shall win more games over time, dont worry ^O^.
So the only thing u can do is pretty much: get better and carry those flamers, OR u could just take your time and try next couple of games cuz u have all the time of the world to become better.
So eventually u will carry more games with those kinda guys in it. So a real answer to your question is hard to give, cuz sometimes you just cant handle with them...
But try to ur best at it. how more experienced how more easier it will go.

Well, I don't actually expect to win games when I play. I just enjoy being certain champs and doing awesome as them. The only time a bad player gets under my skin is when I'm the support and they're the carry marksman. Somehow, someway, it becomes my fault that they chased into an obvious gank while I had the foresight to stay behind or lacked the mana to follow up.
I don't know why they insist on turret diving either, a kill shouldn't be worth dying over outside of teamfights and maybe first blood. Anyway, I digress. I just sigh, think about what they did wrong, think about what I could have done to keep their dumb *** alive and apply it to the next game. Its a team game, sometimes you gotta compensate for that weak link.
Although to be fair, a little communication goes a long way. Like in ARAM where there's a lot of ppl who get stuck with champs they've never touched in their lives. Its less common in 5v5, but people still get stuck with roles they suck at.
