So I have not been playing all that long, level 14 right now. After watching a few streams and videos I don't know what to do. Is it better for me to just concentrate on one roll like support or adc or something? Or should I do just whatever and try to get the hang of it all? And also is it good for me to play one guy over and over or try different champs? I wanna know counters and stuff for various champs and that goes with playing them but I think it would be better for me to just try to "master" one or two guys. Holla.

The gameplay isn't as meta-driven at your level as it is at lvl30 so imho the best choice is to get to lvl30 before you start practicing certain roles.

Also, some champions may seem extremely powerful at low lvl but in reality they are actually really weak at lvl30. Examples include Master Yi and Trynd.

I think you should just play the champions you have availible until lvl30 and save IP for t3 runes. Don't waste IP on buying champions right now as you will need a full t3 rune page pre-lvl30.
I don't play LoL anymore.

learn everything.

When I was new all I did was master Yi and Vayne bot lane. I carried game after game but ended up not knowing how to do other things.

Simply put, learning every role will make it easier to find what you enjoy, and it's best to play who you enjoy. A lot of members here use champions that are unconventional or unpopular. Its also good to have a wide variety of champions for each roll because you won't always get the one you want.

^ yup. i completely agree. once you find a preferred role you can run that role more than the others but even than you should know more roles because as shuru says...you won't always get the role you want.

Ok cool. I have been spending my IP like it's nobodys business. Champs and random runes and stuff. I'll stop that now. And definitely try out all the roles and free champs I can. Thanks for the advice.

Never buy anything less than tier 3 runes, and try free week champions a lot, will help you decide what to buy

Yeah I see that these runes before t3 are kind of a waste. Definitely gonna roll with the new champs a lot more too. I've been pretty much Tristana and Nunu only...lol.

Elohell is like Irelia's stun: if your real level is equal or lower than the level you are in, you're STUNNED there forever. If your actual level is higher than the level you are in, you're just SLOWED in your way up.

Keep playing till you find a role you enjoy and you think you're good at. Then, keep practicing that specific role and champions that follow into that role.

I've got some good news for ya. I didn't start saving IP until around your lvl and had enough for almost two runepages once I hit lvl 20. I say two full runpages, but I mean two pages of what I had unlocked at that point. So, you should have something like 6 marks, 6 seals, 6 glyphs and 2 quints unlocked. So, just focus on getting enough RP to buy 6 marks of Armor Pen and 6 of Mag Pen, 6 armor seals, 6 magic resist glyphs, then 2 Quints of AD and 2 of AP. that will give you two runepages of Runes that will work until you need to start specializing. As you unlock more slots, buy the rest of the runes to fill those spots.

Once you hit 30 and finish those pages, you can try buying more run pages and adding something like a jungle page with Move Speed Quints or a Support page with Gold Quints.

As others have said, don't focus on one role or champ. Branch out. Play every champ you can so you can see what champs you like and might wanna buy in the future and if you don't like them, you'll know how they play.
