I actually don't know how Lagger got rep so fast. XD No offense to him, but people generally don't get rep for negativity.

I've just been around for over a year, hence my rep.

Hello. Maybe you'd like to review my Annie guide. There's just a bit of missing content (regarding mid and endgame tips), but I think it's worthwhile and that I offer valuable advice. Thanks.

Lagger gets rep because what he says is generally true. Even if what he says is harsh and rough, it's only because he wants mobafire to be a better place for guides/ wants people to improve in guide writing....I guess.

How to Zed 101

Please if you don't mind :) Thanks in advance !

Which means he gets rep primarily from people who agree with him and not the people he's "helping."

The situation is quite simple:

Let's say there's a Garen guide with Greater Seal of Mana Regeneration. (Which is the worst It can get)

You would probably say: "The runes makes no sense, why would you get mana regen on Garen, I suggest you have a second look at your guide or maybe even archive and start from scratch".

The guide maker would think: "Uhh I don't feel like starting from scratch besides they didn't seem mad so maybe it's not that bad".

What Lagger would say: "Trash runes trash guide trash everything delete and never come back".

The guide maker would say: "This guy is so mean he gives bad feedback, why is he mad at me it's my first time, i'll just archive and let it be..."

In the end, would you want a Greater Seal of Mana Regeneration Garen guide lurk around in mobafire? Lagger's feedback prevents these kind of occurences. It's important to have "the good cop" and "the bad cop" like in police interrogations. I hope you see what I mean.

Except he does this to guides where there's maybe, one thing wrong. And he doesn't give a reason or a way to fix it. It's more like, this is bad. Period. The end. Criticism and how to fix it is given sparsly and only if it's asked for, which, in my opinion, is pretty lame and does not fit the requirements of someone with such a rank. The fact that he's also never written an actual guide leaves me skeptical as to how he knows what a guide should look like. And the fact that he has yet to reveal us his elo, also leaves me skeptical as to if he actually knows what he's talking about, content wise. This, and he probably never returns to guides that he downvotes to see if they've fixed the problems. That's why if you take a gander into my guidelines, I don't like downvoting guides, unless it's actually terrible and the person is trying to be serious about it. It starts at 50% for a reason: so it's not automatically at the top. If it's bad, it wont get there, with or without a bunch of negative people harping on the kid trying to make the guide. It'll remain at 50%. I understand, if it has a bunch of false upvotes, voting -1. But only then or if the guide is actually bad. I went over an annie guide today, that actually wasn't that bad. Maybe it's because they fixed the mistakes, but both lagger and someone else downvoted it, and I highly doubt they'll come back and change their votes, even after the author said they had fixed the problems. Me having to "counter" a scouts votes with upvotes is pretty bad. In fact, there's a serious problem with that. The reason why mobafire is looked upon as not the best site, is because it's filled with noob guides. Well, guess what comes with those noob guides? Noob players like lagger, and while he's trying to help, downvoting every guide in existence doesn't do much for the cause, especially when there are top guides with serious problems, which will never lose their "top" status because of how engrained they are via votes, etc. Those should be the things he should be trying to fix. Not a bunch of guides, that regardless of whether or not he votes, will never see the day of light. I just don't respect his opinion or his way of doing things.

EDIT: And the keyword to your whole argument there is the word lurk. That's right. Lurk. If a guide like that is lurking around mobafire, then no ones going to see it, hence the word lurk, hence the fact that guides that actually exist can only and will only, lurk around mobafire. They will never see the day of light, and not correcting the author and just outright bashing him is not fixing the problem. It's just complementing negative with negative.
If you think I did a good job criticizing a guide or giving helpful info, or for just being a bawz of a bro, rep would be awesome :)

My philosophy: I try to respond meaningfully if a guide has some hope of improvement. If it's a horrible POS like a Yi guide with all crit runes or some pseudo-guide with no body that took less than 5 minutes to make, what's the point of giving feedback that 99% of the time will go unheeded? I'll be spending more time writing a comment than what the guide writer spent constructing the guide.

My time is valuable as well. It is my choice whether or not I spend my time to help someone else improve. If you want constructive criticism, earn it. If you put 0 effort into your guide I will put 0 effort into my comments.

Plus there are two ***** who revenge-downvoted my guide with literally nothing more than a minus sign because I left long comments about why their guide is bad, so now I'm more tempted to just leave a drive-by downvote and not say anything. If I help somebody and get stabbed in the back it makes me really not want to do it anymore.

Well, to the two *****, made me giggle by the way, just go downvote anything they ever post. I understand troll guides, but the majority of the guides on this site are either trying to troll, pre-30 guides/bronze 5 guides that are obviously wrong, then guides that try to help. If someone is legitimately trying to help with a guide, and they get a few things wrong, tell them. Don't just downvote. I understand if they get a majority of the things wrong, but more often than not, if you just tell the person without downvoting what they should change, instead of just downvoting with no actual input, or very little, chances are they'll probably change it, and it'll be a better guide, instead of them just deleting it and now they feel ****ty about themselves. Lagger predominantly downvotes with little to no input. If you're gonna downvote something that's trying, then at least try back by helping.
