I always find it funny to see a whole rainbow of haircolors in an anime.
It's surely useful because you can easily tell the characters apart.
But IRL, no one would have green, purple, pink or whatever colour of hair (exept for maybe emo's and of course cosplayers), instead it looks fairly rediculous if you have those colours in hair :D
Actually I think it's kinda cool to have for example dark blue or snowy white hair but yeah it would be kinda weird. Too bad :/

In anime, the only girly thing about men is that they have longer hair than usual and often have strange colours in them. Things like wimpers, make-up and headware remain unmanly
Really, the headware thingy, a man would not wear any kind of cloth on his head unless it looks awesome or it is a functional headware (like a russian cap for the cold, a military helmet for protection or arabian tulban for sunprotection)
Well take a look at his hair in this pic. http://oi44.tinypic.com/dh3hhz.jpg Clearly it is an anime but who has such hair irl right? Some male anime characters have really unique hairstyles.
