Views: 1035 The real keys for winning in silver
|
The silver tier for the League of Legends can possibly be one of the most frustrating league to be in. There are mixtures of competitive players along with people who are tired of playing with trolls. I have figured a few keys to help overcome the trollness that the LoL community has at this silver level.
1) The most import key is to be very versatile. Meaning, don't call a position but simply state that you will fill the open position. Most of the time, people will call a role, just to trolled and someone lock in the same position. So rather than call and hope for the best, show the team that you will play anything and do well at it.
2)nice communication. The style of being (over) nice when it comes to communication in the LoL community is virtually impossible to find. Over and over do games get lost just in the first 15 seconds of champion selection. So when in doubt, attempt to be the mediator and try to control the tempers of your fellow players. Using the first key is also important to making this key work.
3)expect feeders. This is a general rule of thought. Most people dont intentionally run into lanes and just feed out of trollness. So maintain coolness and win your lane. Beat your lane and at any free moment, gank another lane and maintain the overall up attitude of the team.
4)never give up. We are in the tiers of MLG throwers. Keep the team focused and re assure them of potential throws and make the most of it.

now THAT is frustrating, especially when you're always last pick cause you get matched with silver IV or higher players that think they're better than you and lolking you and force you to support just cause you're bronze and
okay I'll stop xD
I do agree with point 2 though :3
Unrelated, but **** people who do this then use the stats to tell people what champion to play. I've had some players who tell me to
And what if I am 0-1 with a champion I'm good at because I've only played him/her in normals? I can't play him in ranked because I've never played him in ranked before? What is this catch-22 ********?
I don't think Lasty meant this. I think it's about win rates in certain roles. I mean 5/2 with Sona or 2/5 with Janna doesn't mean ****. However, I've played against people who had 88/18 on Cassiopeia and that always makes me wary of them. Win rates mean a little but not that much. It depends on how many games were actually played.
It's about the roles not individual champions.
You can also lolking your teammates to see winning percentages.

The only reason why i put that it applies to silver, is because i am only in silver. This method works for me personally because i have witnessed and experience all the people in my league.
Those who call "x only" tend to get trolled the second they mess up once in their lane. They also have a chance for a higher pick to take their lane. yes we should have our "set" champions, but at the same time, not get stuck into a "i main only x lane".
Also, I dont mean to sound salty, but i really have a hard time believing that you have won 98% of your games calling jungle only. With the way our Leagues are set up. there are many people who "shouldn't be up there" that you get qued with. So are you stating that when you call jungle you win?
However, you never made it out of Silver so I'm not sure how you can give this adivice. I get your point though but there's nothing wrong with calling a role. Though, you better make sure you can prove you're decent. Yesterday I had a jax and he was like "Im smurfing let me top", we let him top and he failed hard. Meanwhile I played nocturne mid and simply won my lane and did some good ganks as well.
As lasty pointed out, "I main X and my second most played is Y" is a good strategy to make sure you get a role you're good at. Saying "I can play everything" while you're secretly only strong at jungle and top lane isn't a strategy. You will get stuck with a role you never play which causes you to underperform but you can't blame anyone since you stated you are superman and can do everything.
I usually state that I main mid and support even though I can hold my own in many situations. If you main two things, you're likely to get them and to make sure your game works out for you rather than to become a "Jack of all trades, master of none" kinda player.

This blog is incorrect. If you want to win games master 1-3 champions...
I get Jungle in 98% of my games just because I say, 'Jungle only'.
I partially agree with this. I mean it's always for the best if you can create a team in which everyone can play a role they are good at. However sometimes you just have to be a jerk and claim something. Also, how does this solely apply to silver? My silver experiences aren't hardly as bad as my gold ones.

1. Wrong. It's best to have one reliable champion that you're exceptionally good at that can fulfill 2 or more roles, then pick that champion and roflstomp.
2. Wrong. No one listens.
3. This applies everywhere.
4. Yes.
Good, let me feel your anger...
No, but seriously --> If you're nice, the chances that your team listens to you raise exponentially. On the 1st point, I'd say if you have 1 good champion for each role, that's good. I generally have 2-3 champions for each role that I roll. But I do prefer to call jungle and mid unless I'm 1st pick.
