I used Fraps but my computer is so bad it lagged in 5s =(. I don't think I have enough hard drive space for half a game either haha. That wegame one sounds sweet I'm gonna check it out.

JHOIJHOI IS THE BESTEST PERSON IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND THIS SIG IS AMAZING TY <3
I use a recorder called Gregion. It sounds wierd but it is so awesome. Much less lag than Fraps and quality is amazing! I can film at 60 fps full size and still have over 30 fps most of the time.

Make sure you use the Gregion lossless codec when recording and then recompress it to Xvid.
BTW it's free! http://www.gregion.com/game/manual/64.html

I use Fraps and it works fine, I just record at 30 fps since it doesn't make much of a difference for videos (you only need 60 fps if you're playing yourself).
Always record in 1080p, I then use x264 to encode it (at approximately medium quality) and apply a few filters to brighten the video up a bit (H.264 encoding makes everything darker).
The filesize is very, very low after that since H.264 is one of the most efficient codecs currently known to mankind.

I don't reccomend recording in 1080p unless your screen is at that resolution. Otherwise the recorder will have to change aspect ratios, of going from your screen size to 1080p, and fill in the space with black bars. Just record at your full screen size and keep at that resolution for the best quality!
BTW Like Diesel said, a fast external drive like a USB 3.0 or a SSD will record your movies a lot faster.

My monitor is 1920x1080 which is the best resolution to have as it allows me to watch movies without any annoying black bars.

Frap - **** ton of hard drive space for 1 game (100gb)
Xfire - Good quality sometimes a paint to get working (medium size recordings)
wegame - good quality (till they made you pay) / great compression (10 minutes = 1gb)
What else has good sound / recording functions, Something that wont flood your hard drive?
Thanks ;)
