I've heard a few things off that, but I haven't really liked any of them. I think my taste has moved a bit away from melodeath, though, so I can probably only get into Rise of the Tyrant as much as I can for nostalgia-related reasons.

Feels a bit like Celldweller during the heavier sections. It's got that kinda' industrial electronica feel. Although Celldweller is lot more polished and strictly further from straight up metal.

I like some metal music. Especially ones with good drum/guitar solo's.

I'm meh on solos. I like great guitar work and great drum work, but I also really like it when they're spread throughout the whole song rather than bunched up into solos with the rest of the song being fairly simple by comparison. What metal songs I listen to that end up having good solos actually have solos that are a lot slower and simpler than the rest of the song. Example below:
Amon Amarth - Vallhall Awaits MeAlso, that second song is definitely fine. I might be a little more hard rock than metal, but whatever. The Bleach nostalgia was nice.

I'd always thought that Dimmu was basically the best known and most generally appealing black metal band, I'm not sure how they'd end up with a bad rep.

Sounds like metalcore or some related subgenre. I guess I'd call it deathcore.
I guess today I'll post some other deathcore I listen to.
