Oh, yeah, that's another thing.

I also played a game before this. Both games have been full of flamers. Or well, had one really loud flamer. Also, the games were just bad. I'm rusty as heck, but if I can still play comfortably in my normals the rankeds should be a breeze, and the difference in skill levels is really noticeable, especially game knowledge. Bah, three losses since placements. I'm not saying I'm not making mistakes (that would be flat out wrong even if I was challenger), but I'd like a game which doesn't require playing vastly better than everyone else, as opposed to reasonably better, to win it. Or perhaps one where people listen to calls. Or don't flame. Or the mid at least goes even in lane.
I don't care too much about the rankeds anymore, which made me think "if I'm going to play, I may as well play ranked". Not really, the normals are just so much more fun. Higher level of play, less flamers and just more relaxed. I'd like to get into silver before the season end though. I don't want the bronze dragging down next seasons placements (although pre-season might be a good time to bring things up) and I'd like that ward skin. My MMR has probably tanked so much, though. Let's see what the LP gain is when I actually get a win.
Forgot to screeny the last. Apparently the Ryze I was facing was a smurf. Looks like eloboosting to me, 50:50 win ratio, but his match history is almost entirely wins. He didn't feel like one, though. Or well, he wouldn't have been terribly out of place in my normals. Sadly I DCed right as I walked into lane at the start. Evening things up wasn't too hard, but I could have won it hard if that setback hadn't happen, methinks. He was pretty ****py at dodging stuff and died to a really obvious combo (well, I think it was an obvious, Ori manoeuvre). I do realise that Ryze is a pushover for Ori. Top apparently had 2k ping and between himself and the jungler went 0/7 very quickly. I then pretty much went on tilt and made a bunch of ****py errors. 4 losses at 0 lp and still no demotion, lol. But the MMR has tanked from mostly facing silvers to mostly bronzes, especially mid ones.

At long last. To be honest, I don't actually feel that happy about the win. Both Lux and Leona joined the game late, giving us a nice early advantage. I feel I should have been able to kill Lux, but I did manage to deny her really hard. She was complaining in all chat asking me to let her farm. Hah. Then she started getting kills elsewhere, meanwhile I was like "well I'm not sure I can help there or there but this ******* tower is dying so sloooooow". I can't say I pulled off anything special later on. It was all fairly generic stuff. Enough to climb with, but below my par.
19 LP isn't too bad. Imagine what I could get if the last three games had gone well. 30? 40? Even 50?

That game was stupid. Free LP, but stupid. Blitz was supposed to be swapping with Jax, who was supposed to pick Katarina for him. Jax decided no to that because Annie might have been mid (she was support), then they started arguing over what else to pick. I realised I'd have to be going top and put it out there that it was the one thing I'm **** at. As I prepared to play Jayce, Jax decided he'd top and told me to mid.
It seemed that things would be alright in game, I expressed my sympathies to Blitz, but then Blitz realised it was Karma mid and started shouting obscenities and trolling the mid, so I was forced into Ori support. Fortunately, the only member of the opposition who was remotely capable in the match-up was top and the Jinx was pretty boss. She got a first blood almost single-handedly, then when Yi ganked we turned it into a kill for each of us. The game pretty much snowballed from there, although it dragged on a little due to a lack of direction. I could probably have rallied everyone to end it several minutes earlier.
All three of my deaths are from Yi suicide killing me in what were 3v1s, desperate to at least have kills, even if it was for no end.

Yeah, my MMR is pretty much wrecked. With the free time I have I would be surprised if I even had time to see my promos before season finish. There's a very notable gap in skill between these guys and who I play against in normals. With LP gains of 7, I'm not counting on getting to silver before the reset. I'm not horribly fussed about the rank itself, I'm loving Uni and league just isn't a priority. But. I'm quite confident in saying that a reasonable placement series would have seen me in silver III or possibly II, that I barely have time to play at the moment should not have denied me the banner and ward skin. Oh well, my own fault for starting ranked so late, I guess.
As for the game itself, nothing much to talk about. My jungling is still weak but it's good enough to see me to silver. Top is the only role I find I cannot comfortably play in my normal MMR, I'd wager I could probably do decently with it in my rankeds, albeit certainly not well enough to carry.

7 LP again.
Definitely want to take barrier or something if Annie picks against me as Ahri, got 100-0ed at level 6, I think I could have turned it into a 1-for-1 with the ignite, however. I'd rather have Ori against Annie. Or well, blind pick Ori into anything. Reason I went with Ahri is that while I'm best at Ori, my snowball potential is lower. Put me in even games or against someone in gold or higher and I'll take Ori because I know I can make a strong contribution with her. However, as I believe Throat said, low ELO games aren't won by everyone making good contributions. They're almost never balanced and its snowballing my lane that's going to give me best chances at winning, and that's something I'm better placed to do with Ahri.
Otherwise, play on my end was kind of meh. CS was much lower than I would have liked, however everyone else in the match decided to have a party in mid early on which rather disrupted my farming. You can see Nasus certainly wasn't shy about taking lane farm. I should have started roaming, seeing as I wasn't doing much in lane. Sadly I realised that rather late then didn't get the blue buffs I needed to safely push out the lane with my abilities. Did a decent job of making sure not to let Jayce get into melee range on me, well at least after the first time I fought him which could have gone poorly, although thankfully didn't (he tried to get to me a lot). Game actually looked like we'd throw it, but then Anni stepped on a cupcake and I blasted her with charm. Then Nasus charged in and we cleaned up, taking 3 towers, inhib and the nexus.

Honestly
As a mid laner who isn't laning against him, I think your best bet is to ask your jungler to go there or go yourself if you have the opportunity (generally isn't the case early though).
