I had a guide in Season 2 as well, which I got a fair few revenge-downvotes for. Haven't published any guides since then, though, so I'm alright to keep downvoting guides.
The voting system is broken, but there's no real way to actually fix it at the moment, not to mention that I don't believe there is a single system of voting that can't be abused or has an extremely apparent flaw somehow.
I mean, even if you remove C2V so voters remain anonymous, if you write anything even remotely negative, guide authors will probably assume you downvoted and seek you out anyway. It might not even be a matter of voting - if you write anything even remotely negative, they could launch a personal vendetta.
I think it's just a double-edged sword that you have to contend with. I would like to say that if your guide is really good, it'll attract upvotes, but we all know this isn't always the case...

Every time when a decently well written Lissandra guide has been released (the ones where the authors actually bothered to update them) I've gotten downvotes. To this day, I have not gotten a single reason for a downvote on my guide. The downvotes have been either anonymous or because of "dkjasjkd kjadk jkjajd" which, quite frankly leads me to suspicion and makes me feel like I can't improve my guide at all and that the system is flawed. Sadly it can't be fixed :X

Allright so most of you know that I am actively looking through new guides and filtering the good ones of the bad. But recently this has come to a problem for myself. Quite often I see people that revenge vote just because I considered their guide to be bad and downvoted them because.
I will quote a few downvotes on my guides (It is even worse on a few other guides because there is no c2v on it)
On the first one I only commented on the fact that the guy had over 5 upvotes from accounts with 0 posts on mobafire, on the second one I downvoted because of a bold statement in his guide ("I've never lost my lane"). Now this isn't meant to be a rage on these specific authors (if the mods want, you can remove the names of the guys - I simply use this to proof). The problem is, I cannot do anything to stop these troll votes because 'revenge votes' are tolerated by the mods (I reported those votes twice already). Another problem is that these 3 downvotes weigh more than the 6 upvotes I have gotten over the course of time after these votes.
What does mobafire do to stop these votes - or should I simply archive my guides because this problem gets ignored? /rant
Some people are just ingrates and ignorant, as if you get joy making enemies by down voting their guides, pfft.
There should either be a admin monitoring this or a report feature for this, I am aware of a report feature but under what grounds does is apply? I for one would be happy to report such activity as I too have encountered this. (Down voted my Anivia guide saying "You didn't use manamune", not because I down voted his build but because I commented that he won't get my up vote til he adds manamune... for some like random mana dependent ADish champion, idk maybe Blitz or Taric don't remember lol)

Might have been me... I don't go looking for them and recently I downvoted with Lagger, Someone made a vi guide claiming to be gold but not syncing with their acc.
I'll check up on it in a week and see if its fixed (aka up vote worthy).

This **** has been talked about for years, I'm going on 3 years here and I can tell you it gets brought up all the time. It's not going to change, I don't necessarily like it or condone it, but it is what it is. Your argument could also be stronger if you gave examples from other guides, instead of just yours, because you just sound butthurt that people downvoted your guide. I guess if this was such an issue why bring it up now, you've been a member of this community for over a year and a half. This is just a reaction to people downvoting your guide.
