I've found that laning against Riven, Tryndamere and Jax to be good matchups. I **** on Riven so bad it wasn't even funny. Dat Doran's Shield doin' work early game. Add another Doran's Blade and there you go, you won lane. I even added a Ninja Tabi early to spam laugh (and because they had 4 AD chumps).
Jax has to pretend my E doesn't hurt him through his E. If huge***bladeguy doesn't crit me every time he comes to CS I just outharass before 6.

I didn't express myself correctly to be honest. It's his scaling into mid/late-game that bothers me. I had the most CS in the game, the most items finished, went 4-0 and by the time teamfights started happening I either died after using ult, not managing to kill anybody or I just peeled off my ADC to get her kills. Getting fed to just peel sucks.

What I'm saying is he is very limited. If any of the three I mentioned got that high of a lead, they would be doing a whole lot more than I was able to.

Riven is actually hellish for Olaf, so the ones you are going against must not be that good. He loses to anybody that can outdamage or outsustain him; very few can do the former, while almost everybody can do the latter.

I really don't think Riven is that good against Olaf

I feel like Olaf could be a decent jungle, his W's AS buff is pretty big at rank 1, plus it offers sustain. His clear isn't great, but undertow gives him something. Glaring issues would be lack of gold and subpar ganks. Right now I think his place is in top lane, might change with the S4 jungle but idk
Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!

Riven needs to win every single trade early, and preferably get a kill at lv2-3 to get Olaf behind. By the time Olaf gets his 3rd point in E (lv 7 usually), he should already have the armor necessary to trade decently. Honestly, it's a matchup in favor of Riven, but not by much. I'm even starting to think this is a 50/50.

@Mooninites: yeah his jungle is very subpar right now. He needs CC from lane to be effective early-mid game, which doesn't happen that often. Once he gets going jungle clear is fast, but he doesn't offer much with little gold other than being an off-tank peeler. Not so long ago you could at least trade your life for the carry... now that's much harder to do. Don't see much of a difference for him with S4 jungle from what I've seen so far. His problem isn't exactly where he gets his gold from, it's what he needs to do with such gold, which is basically get like 9 items.

At least he can start Doran's Blade, oh yeah!!!

He's seen play recently from Rhux in the NACL (salt!) and was built a little differently each time and, what do you know, his games were similar to mine: get fed early, rush Ravenous Hydra, go tanky, proceed to not kill anyone else during the entire game.

EDIT: Seems like koreans (who would have thought?) have figured him out...
