So there will be a limit to how many wards you can carry at one time? Hoping that this will force team mates to stop solely relying on their support to do all the map warding...
I give it 5 minutes and people will be demanding the support does my back to base to pick up all the wards he or she can so they can still ward the map themselves.

It's not a limit on how many you can carry... it's a limit on how many you can place. 1 player can put out on the map a maximum of 3 sight wards(stealth wards) and 1 vision ward making that a maximum of 4 wards per player on the map. making that 20 wards on the whole map (granted if every single player on the team is warded. If you were to place a 5th ward, your other ward will immediatly expire still leaving you with 4 wards on map.
That means its not only the supports job to ward anymore but everyone's if you want proper vision at all times. Hope that answers your question Blood:)
